Women Only Training 2nd edition
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is an ideal system of self defense for women. This is because BJJ emphasizes and focuses upon the correct and efficient use of leverage. A standing opponent is, of course, much more explosive than when lying on the ground! Therefore, a BJJ practitioner will attempt to take his or her opponent to the ground where it is possible to control them using BJJ principles, such as correct positioning, weight distribution and a little power. In this way the Jiu-Jitsuka can turn the odds in their favor even when the opponent is bigger and heavier.
The EGJJF regularly organizes Women Only trainings because we believe it is both beneficial and fun for you to train with your peers who, like you, often struggle with the strength and egos of the men during the standard classes.
